A significant milestone for the Innovation Park: For the first time, it hosted the prestigious Scientific Annual Conference of the German Society for Aerospace Medicine (DGLRM). The three-day event, held from October 17-19 at Hangar 4 and the Air Force Center in Dübendorf brought together approximately 120 experts from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein.
Under the leadership of DGLRM President Oliver Ullrich, who also serves as Director of the University of Zurich's Space Hub, the conference provided a unique platform for exchange between civilian and military researchers. A highlight was the insightful presentation by Bianca Lins from Liechtenstein's Space Department on the impact of geopolitical tensions on space utilization.
The diversity of over 35 presentations and posters reflected the increasing convergence of aviation and space medicine. The dynamic panel discussions revealed a unanimous expectation that the traditional separation between these two disciplines will dissolve in the future.
Hosting this four-country conference at the Innovation Park and the Air Force Center underscores its growing importance as a center for aerospace medicine. With the Space Hub in Hangar 4, the location is positioning itself as a crucial node for the medical support of human spaceflight and the development of pioneering technologies.
