Calista Fischer

Calista Fischer

Calista Fischer studied prehistoric archaeology, the history of German language and the history of religion, and led archaeological excavations in Switzerland and abroad before turning to outreach. She wrote popular science books, realized exhibitions for museums, wrote radio plays and scripts for films. She then worked for a communications agency and advised clients from the pharma and financial industry and politics. After her CAS in science communication, she worked for organizations in the fields of cyber security and nuclear energy. She has been responsible for communications at the UZH Faculty of Science since 2007 and joined the UZH Space Hub in 2020. There she is responsible for strategic communication and special operations. She led the communication of the two ISS missions in 2020 and 2021 as well as of the 4th Swiss Parabolic Flight Campaign in 2020. Calista has a high affinity for aviation and technology, took part in a parabolic flight and is enthusiastic about space, innovation and pushing boundaries.
