Vartan Kurtcuoglu, The Interface Group:

The vision of The Interface Group is to answer fundamental questions of physiology and address clinical needs through the convergence of engineering, biological and medical research. One of our research foci is situated at the interface between biomechanics and mechanobioloy: how does the interplay between mechanical stimuli and cellular response shape fluid flow and associated transport processes in the human body? And how do changes to the mechanical stimuli – be it by through pathologies, medical devices or variations in gravity as during space flight – influence this interplay?
