The Remote Sensing of Water Systems (RSWS) group is embedded in both, the Department of Geography at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, Eawag. RSWS’s central goal is to advance water systems research using novel Earth Observation technology (i.e. ESA’s future FLEX satellite mission) and process models. Our fundamental research activities are centered around the measurement of water dynamics in the Earth system. Resulting insight facilitates application development addressing key societal challenges including water scarcity, resource depletion and environmental degradation.
